Returns and refunds

If something is not right, call us first. Most problems are sorted out in one phone call.

If it arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered

Tell us within 5 business days of delivery, with a photo of the damage and the packaging if you can. We will replace it or refund it in full, including the shipping, and arrange to collect it at our cost.

What can be returned

  • Manhole Debris Catchers, ropes, and the Mary A and Jake manhole picks can be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original packaging.
  • Caldwell products cannot be returned. This includes the Caldwell sleeve lifters.

How a return works

  • Call or email us first for a return authorization and the address to send it to. A parcel that arrives without one cannot be matched to an order.
  • Return shipping is yours to pay.
  • A 25% restocking fee is deducted from the refund.
  • The refund is issued once the goods are back with us and we have inspected them. If they come back used or damaged, we will call you before deciding anything.
  • We refund the price of the goods, less the restocking fee, and the sales tax charged on the amount refunded. The original shipping charge is not refunded.

Cancelling an order

Before it ships, you can cancel for a full refund, shipping included. Orders usually ship within one to two business days, so call as soon as you can. Once it has shipped, it is a return, as above.

How refunds are paid

  • To the way you paid. A card refund is issued the day we approve it; your bank usually takes 5 to 10 business days to show it.
  • An order paid by check or on a purchase order is refunded by check.
  • A tax-exempt order had no sales tax on it, so there is none to refund.
